I feel this should have been proposed on the forum, but I like it. The other option would have been to update TransformationManager to provide an API where you could list the transformations to execute.
It would be interesting to complete the chain with what's needed from XWIKI-17808 to see if it's all consistent. I think it is and that it would be:
execution (transformation context) > request (parameter) > configured list of tx to execute for a given doc (XWIKI-17808) > rendering configuration
