Seems very nice for a first version! :) I think we'll quickly need categories too but this could be done as the next step. Thanks -Vincent

This looks already very nice ! Here is a quick comment (will think more about it when I finished working on some tasks for 2.7C1). What's would be great to see: * extension detailed sheet when you click on one (like a more complete description, changelog, dependencies, etc.) * when clicking on install/uninstall/enable/disable having a panel indicating what will be done (what others extensions will need to be installed/uninstalled/enabled/disabled, confirm) * Some notes: * "Incompatible with XE 2.6", extension generally depends on Core/platform, not XE. XE job is to package some extensions that works well together with a specific version of the platform.
Thanks, Caty

Nice ! I'd may add more separation, ie contrast or a separator line, on the list footer, where there is "20 extensions --- update all" displayed, Have a nice day Thibaut DEVERAUX Tel : 06 75 51 20 80 thibaut.deveraux@gmail.com http://www.thib-d.com @ Bricks, design et accompagnement projet t.deveraux@bricks-studio.com http://bricks-studio.com http://design-keys.org 2010/12/14 Thomas Mortagne <thomas.mortagne@xwiki.com>

This is not category but type. Category corresponds to tags, such as the tags on extensions.xwiki.org (we'll need to refine them and define well-known categories). This is similar to what we have for wiki macros. It's required when you have lots of extensions (which is our case). Thanks -Vincent
@Thomas: extension detailed sheet is the next step
@Jerome, @Thibaut thanks for the suggestions

It's very nice. A pagination mechanism is missing. Jerome.

Hi cat, This is a great job, and very much looking like best in class tools like the Mobile Phone Options manager of SFR (Vodaphone). I will send you directly SFR's screenshots. My feed back is : - we need to add visual tags (new, updated, etc.) - we need shopping options (purchase button, price, promotion or rebate), and may be mention of the repository origin (logo ?) - we need an accordeon to show the detailed info about the extension (structured text, screenshots, compatibility, etc.) - the installed extensions should be separated from the extension catalog (2 screens ?) - we need filters AND sorting options (popular, A>Z, Z>A, publication, update) - aren't filters the side categories ? then filters in the left column, sorting as a top level menu ? We should anyway preview the overall process : - the initial screen (your actual proposal) - the install steps (free or not ...) - the uninstall steps - the different states of an extension block (may be : active, unactive, compatibe, uncompatible, etc.) Best G Le 14 déc. 2010 à 12:11, Ecaterina Moraru (Valica) a écrit :

Looks really nice Caty! One suggestion is not to use gradient colors for extension blocks like: Compatible, Incompatible, New updates available. It may be enough only the text in the right with the specific color (and maybe bold). Only for disabled extensions we can use a light gray background color for the entire block. Also a more detailed description of the extension I think will help so we can spot exactly in the extension manager what the is it intend for. A rating system also will be nice, so in case of two similar extensions the user could choose it based on its popularity. Ciprian. Hi, Please take a look at Iteration 2 http://incubator.myxwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Improvements/ExtensionManagerPro... Covers: - matched the style accordingly to our current Administration style - changed a bit button order + changed status display - collapsible entries that have zone tags (Description, Release Notes, Dependencies) - installation steps Thanks, Caty On Fri, Dec 17, 2010 at 12:46, Ciprian Amaritei <amaritei.ciprian@gmail.com>wrote:
