We could have some UI that search for extensions with the category "template" or something like this. It mostly mean make the flavor picker generic enough to support any category since that's already what it does but just for the category "flavor".

I'm not convinced. It's strange to see a Folder template and no File template. I understand the use case but we have the Dashboard template that covers some parts of it. It seems to me that your template offers a dedicated dashboard, so I think it's name should come from that. It's not clear why a dashboard with the children tree and the activity stream would be called "Folder".
