Also, we currently have a cyclic dependency problem in xwiki-platform and so building from the top folder might fail. Anyway, we never build the entire xwiki-platform or xwiki-enterprise because we have the http://ci.xwiki.org/ to do this for us. We only build the Maven modules we work on. Try to build a sub-module like xwiki-platform-core/xwiki-platform-web . If this works then you're fine. Note that for development we usually use the jetty+hsqldb (zip) XWiki Enterprise distribution because you only have to unzip and execute start_xwiki.sh to have a running instance. You can get the latest snapshot build from http://maven.xwiki.org/snapshots/org/xwiki/enterprise/xwiki-enterprise-jetty... . Hope this helps, Marius

Am i doing something wrong? Perhaps i have missed out a step in the build instructions on the wiki you linked to? Any help would be much appreciated.
