Re: [xwiki-devs] devs Digest, Vol 105, Issue 23
Hi, I am a fourth year computer science engineering major at B.K.Birla Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Pilani, India. In the beginning as well as upper stage of my coursework. i have enhanced my enthusiasm for computer science. I have worked on many technologies like HTML, CSS, JS, Python, Django, Node.js, MongoDB, C/C++, Embedded, Git and Linux. I am also a Firefox student ambassador of my college. In Self projects, I mainly focus on the front-end Development by implementing the UI concepts to make the users more comfortable in using the application. I am very much interested in contributing to the XWiki. As i am new to XWiki, Can you suggest me how to start contribute in building the UI for Blame View and also the details of the project( Repository link or important links.)? So, I can Contribute more in less time. Thanks for giving me your time.. Waiting for your quick and positive revert. Regards, SHUBHAM MITTAL B. Tech. Hi,
This is Sidhartha, a second year undergraduate in computer science from Amity University, India. I have experience in Javascript, Python, HTML, CSS, Java (android) and C/C++ and have completed several projects on my own. I have gone through the Xwiki Idea submission and am totally interested in coding for the open source platform. Frontend development is my main focus during development. I would love to spend my summer time working on Xwiki?s frontend development. Things that I would like to do are
1. code minimization for better performance 2. UI design 3. New projects related to Xwiki
Your sincerely Sidhartha Singh

Hi devs,
A couple of days ago, Nicolas Lemoine (and Jean Coury, as far as I understood) from XWiki SAS did a nice analysis on what XWiki should
offer
in terms of notifications, from a more general and user-focused point of view.
They had a look of how other applications, services or even operating systems handle user notifications and produced an interesting overview [1], extracted a list of use cases [2] and created an UI proposal [3] that might be useful when we start working on it for XWiki.
They`ve asked me to send the mail for them on the community and maybe get some oppinions on the conclusions and even new ideas to where we could take it.
WDYT?
http://design.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Proposal/NotificationSystemforApps#HU... looks
really nice!
I like it too.
Thanks, Marius
Sounds like a good direction to follow.
Idea: maybe this mail could also have been sent to our users, asking for their opinions as users?
Thanks -Vincent
Thanks, Eduard

Welcome to the xwiki project :) No I cannot show how to build the UI for the blame view since the goal of this GSOC project is to create it! :) (it doesn’t exist right now). To install XWiki, please check http://platform.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/AdminGuide/Installation Regarding the GSOC, please check http://dev.xwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/GoogleSummerOfCode/ there are plenty of info for students who apply and what they should do.
