Thanx Marius, but switching to Syntax 2.0 makes the section editing feature completely inaccessible, as confirmed as a known issue by Vincent some days ago in that context. Furthermore, the conversion popup that Vincent mentioned does not occur here, when switching the syntax field from 1.0 to 2.0. Am I doing something wrong? Hmm, it should work.. You should be switching from within Wiki mode (I know the syntax combo is disabled in WYSIWYG mode) and the popup that asks you about the conversion should appear as you change the syntax from the combo. Maybe it's a browser issue. What browser are you using?

Hi Marius, I'm using Firefox 3.0.5 and just tested it with IE6. It is not working in either browser, both with any popup blockers disabled. Could it be I'm missing something in xwiki.cfg. BTW, XWiki/1.0 syntax appears twice in my syntax selection list. It seems you might be using XE 1.7.1 since we've fixed this problem in 1.8M1 I believe. -Vincent

I just downloaded the xwiki-enterprise-jetty-hsqldb-1.8-milestone-1.zip from xwiki.org, unpacked, started, logged in, went to Main.WebHome and edited in Wiki mode. I have just one XWiki 1.0 entry in the list. The popup is showing and the conversion works fine. I'm using Firefox 3.0.5 as you. Also, I don't have mediawiki/1.0 in my xwiki.cfg. So you either downloaded the 1.7.1 version or you did an upgrade from a previous version. Hope this helps, Marius.

somehow this stuff does not work here... when i now convert the document in Wiki editor to syntax 2.0 (which sometimes only converts some parts of the document, feels non-deterministic) and save the document, it does not get rendered according to syntax 2.0, but gets presented as "= Welcome to your Wiki =" and so on. 1.0->2.0 converter is experimental and not complete yet, especially if your page contains velocity or html which is supported only since the coming 1.8M2. Also some radeox macros are not converted yet because the is no equivalent in the 2.0 macros yet. If you get pure syntax conversion issues, feel free to report them with details on the mailing list on on http://jira.xwiki.org.
