Hi, I'm not sure I understand your question. You can point to files stored on the webserver. All the skin files (css and image) are retrieved that way. Yes it is possible. I got it working in explorer by adding a link like C:\location. I don't remember the exact syntax but I remember I tried the file protocol (file:/// ) and that I had to escape a number of (back?)slashes. Try and error should get you there... (just look at what the browser is expecting an escape it in the wiki).
