The Office Importer application is bundled with XWiki Enterprise, not the office server. In XWiki the notion of an application means a set of wiki pages that offer some functionality. In this case the Office Importer application allows you manage the connection (start/stop) to an office server (which you have to install separately) and to import office documents through the configured connection. You can install either OpenOffice or LibreOffice, but take care of http://jira.xwiki.org/browse/XWIKI-6832 .

But I am beginning to think that OpenOffice server must be installed additionally/separately, then configured to work with XWiki's Office Importer. If this is the case, the documentation is not clear on this.
