how to connect wiki to an external database

Hi, newbie, I would like to know if it is possible to connect a wiki to another Database. I am using a mysql database so as to store my different documents (pdf, jpg, word..) and I would access to these docs from a wiki. thks bruno

I have a portal application that authenticates users and redirects to XWiki (within a frame). Is it possible to pass the credentials to XWiki so users dont have to re-authenticate again? Thanks Duke

Depending on what page (looks like webhome/main); there is an easy solution. How the xwiki permissions work is by exclusion (hope that term is correct). IE, you've told it that XWiki.XWikiGuest is allowed to view the page - xwiki assumes you thus mean that all others are to be denied. This is not unusual, if you've ever worked with network apps it becomes easier to use (MUCH easier than specifically grant/deny). I'll explain. I've got a class with a date attribute. This class is represented through a form to the user, so he/she has to set this date. Now I want, on a separate page, to create an overview of all objects of that class which fall in a given period. But not from the current date to 1 month back. Rather from a set start date to a set end date. And yes I want to do this with a Velocity script. Hope that explains a bit more. Hello, I've asked a question before on this subject (http://www.objectweb.org/wws/arc/xwiki-users/2006-03/msg00131.html) but now a slightly different one: Dates in Xwiki are of type java.util.Calendar. This allows me to go back in time from the current date/time a certain amount. But suppose I want all objects, of a class with a date attribute, where the date attribute has a value from a start date to an end date. For instance: all object where date between 01-05-2006 and 31-05-2006. Is this possible as well? I haven't succeeded yet. So any help would be appreciated. Thanks again, Joep Janssen

objects not saving

Hello, I sometimes see strange behaviour in my applications. I'm using a lot of templates, where users fill in forms. But when saving I don't see the object in my presentation sheet, I rather get back an empty page. It seems to be happening at random. Has somebody experienced this kind of behaviour as well?
