I can't find any log4j.properties file in the archive xwiki-1.0- beta-2.war.
But I have found one in the xwiki-1.0-beta-2.jar archive ?
Yes. As I said it was in the xwiki JAR...
Do I need that archive for a basic use ?
Yes. You need everything in the WAR!
Moreover, there is no directive in this file which tells me where the xwiki.log is written ...
